Increasing GST to 7% - What are your views?

One reader offered some kind words of advice - prompt contributions by offering pointers for discussion. So here we go, let's see if this works. Budget day is coming and with that, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) increase too. The rationale in increasing the GST is to help the poor. What are your views? Eh why you ping this to petalingstreet.org?!! Not relevant at all.

If people (Singaporeans who care about your GST) want to read about Singapore issues, they will go to tomorrow.sg

Singaporeans do not need to be taxed on their spending for the benefit of foreign companies. The GST is a killer tax - where you pay even for services such as lawyer's fee and such.

The GST is becoming a cash cow for the Government - collection is so easy - and as it is, they already have too much of our money!

Really siow, la! And we are allowing - worse still. How can?
